WMA Introduction
The “Waterheater Manufacturers
Association” is an association of persons and companies engaged in the
manufacture of storage Waterheaters. The WMA was originally formed in 1913 .
Objectives
- To promote the sale and use of storage water heating equipment
.
- To collect and distribute technical , legal and other knowledge
and information relevant to the manufacture of storage water heating
equipment.
- To promote excellence in technical and commercial standards
within the trade in order to maintain the integrity of the trade and
retain the confidence of customers , specifiers and suppliers.
- To promote and protect the interests of members in bodies such
as the British Standards Institution , Water Authorities and Government
Departments.

Activities
The Association meets annually and
Committee meetings and Members meetings are held throughout the year. In this
way the association affords members the opportunity for regular conference ,
discussion and co-operation on matters of common interest.
Among its activities the Association aims
:-
- To represent the collective interests of the members to other
trade associations.
- To monitor Government Legislation on behalf of members in so
far as the interests of the trade are affected.
- To represent members views to Government departments directly
or through other bodies.
- To represent the trade with technical and approved bodies ,
e.g. British Standards Institution , Water Research Council ; and to
represent the views of Association members to these and similar bodies.
- To circulate proposed amendments and additions to British Standards
and other similar publications and to afford members opportunity to
comment on Standards generally.

Membership
Membership is open to established storage
water heater manufacturers who are in accord with the objectives and aims of
the Association and whose application is approved by the Committee.
